Head Coach
Ashley Gilchrist
I was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana and moved to Colorado in July 2020! I am a special education teacher in Denver Public Schools for kindergarten through 5th graders. I started swimming when I was 8 years old and swam club swimming through high school. My favorite events to swim were the butterfly and distance freestyle! I started teaching swimming lessons my freshman year of high school which then developed into a love of coaching. I have been an assistant coach and head coach in summer leagues in Indianapolis as well as an assistant coach at the high school level. I am currently one of the age group coaches for the Colorado Athletic Club Stingrays. This will be my 3rd year with the Wahoos and I am so excited to be a part of the Wahoos again this summer!
Swim Assessments
All NEW swimmers to the Wahoos will need to complete a swim assessment. Swimmers will need to complete a 25 yd swim in both freestyle and a stroke of their choosing (50 yards for kids 9 and over) unassisted from the side of the pool, lane ropes, or a human. Swim Assessments are scheduled for Sunday 4/2 3pm - 5pm and a second assessment at a later date that is not yet determined. Ask for Coach Ashley.
