Stroke & Turn Judges Needed: Best View of the Pool!
April 28th
Greetings Wahoo Families!
The
warmer weather is getting us excited for Wahoos swim team! As we draw
closer to the start of the season, we would like to encourage you to
become a Stroke and Turn Judge. This is an important role at our meets
to ensure a fair competition for all swimmers. Stroke and Turn Judges
get a front row seat to all the action!
What does a Stroke and Turn Judge do?
A Stroke and Turn Judge's primary responsibility is to ensure
swimmers adhere to the rules during a race, specifically regarding
stroke technique and turns. They observe swimmers in their part of the
pool and report any infractions if he or she observes something outside
the rules.
How do you become a Stroke and Turn Judge?
There
is a training that is required to become a certified Stroke and Turn
Judge. In just a couple of hours, you will learn all there is to know
about each stroke/kick/arms/turn/finish. The league conducts a few
trainings that you can attend OR you can attend a training specific for
