The Power of Volunteering – Keeping Our Swim Meets Running Smoothly
Dear Wahoo Families!
BLUF: We need you, the parents, to help this summer and during our swim meets to ensure our swim season runs smoothly!
Woohoo May is here and welcome to the 2025 summer season! As we dive into another exciting summer season, we want to make sure you have all the important information on volunteer requirements.
Summer swim is about having fun, swimming fast and trying to minimize chaos. And like you, the board members, are parent volunteers and have been working behind the scenes to kick off the season.
Each meet is a team effort and the dedication of our volunteers ensures that everything runs swimmingly for our swimmers. The Wahoos have often been praised for how well our meets are run! So it is important that we all play our part to ensure the success of our swim meets through our volunteer commitments.
Over the years we have been able to offer the opportunity for families to opt out of volunteering and pay a fee up front. However, this year, we've seen volunteer opt-outs double, meaning it’s even more critical that all other families fulfill their assigned roles. Your participation, whether as a timer, official, concession stand worker, or any of the many needed positions, directly impacts the experience for all athletes.
We recognize the commitment and next year you will likely see a change to opt-out opportunities. But volunteering isn’t just about fulfilling a requirement—it’s about being an active part of our swim community and contributing to the success of our team. Our swimmers count on us to create a supportive and organized environment, and every shift worked brings us closer to a smooth and enjoyable season. For more information on the Wahoos volunteer requirements you can find it on our webpage under Documents/Downloads.
Thank you for your commitment to making this season a great one.
See you at the pool!
